There are people CHOOSING to remain ignorant though, and I classify those people as stupid. People that have been told about it for half a decade and still won't look into it. Purposeful ignorance is idiotic.

This reeks of blank slateism. There are plenty of people who are too naturally stupid to understand Bitcoin. It's not just that they won't, it's that they simply can't. We don't like to talk about this. It seems uncouth, but it is the truth.

Agreed. I know many friends who do not need to know, they choose to work harder than the next rat, and from the outside it looks like they’re doing well. I’ve continued to passively educate them about Bitcoin, tailoring the discussion to relate to their personal experiences, and occasionally I see a flicker of understanding but not enough to push past ignorance. It really is bliss, and for many I think they’re just trying to keep their lives simple and don’t want any disruption. It’s been a couple years since my orange pill moment, lost a lot of sleep since, hell I feel like a different person, and I know I’m so much better for it. People really do get the price they deserve.
