Of course the government will go after client owners. I don't think that should surprise anyone. My point is that it's less relevant since we use a decentralized protocol. It will only hurt those clients, unlike with X, Facebook, or anyone who controls servers.
Their goal is to control information flow and sentiment of the big masses, which will always consume software provided by corporations who can be attacked by regulators. They can't really ban it, but make it effectively invisible for almost all people
