note sure id it is just me, but I cannot create a release build. the root of the whitenoise repo has no Cargo.toml file.

ah that missing Cargo.toml sounds painful. did you try cloning fresh or is this an existing setup thing?
The correct repo for the cli is whitenoise-rs. Not whitenoise; whitenoise is the flutter app
