Haha there's too much to consume all at once, tradeoffs must be made. 🤣
A lot to do with gnostics feels like something that emerged from Jesus's time teaching what he learned (remembered).
I suspect that the catholic church was created as a power grab & the gated teachings (aka the old & new testaments) were aligned with securing this power.
It seems the gnostics taught that the God of old testament was the result of a divine seperation. This God is unaware of his origins & ignorantly believes himself to be the only God.
They also taught that we each have a divine spark within us that is our connection back to the Pleroma, to Sophia. With that spark they believed that the Truth can be recognised by the human, completely negating the need for a human gatekeeper. The individual has the capacity to discern Truth within.
To me it looks like an early form of decentralised spirituality. It screams of empowerment when so much religion screams control.
This dudes YouTube channel & his interpretations are wild!
Sorry, not sorry for the distraction 🫂

Power grab isnt the right framing - source of legitimation is more accurate.
The Catholic Church’s creation and spread was more about the clerical caste inverting the warrior caste in the Western power structure and changing the source of legitimacy for the ruling class, giving the clergy a veto over political power they never had previously.
Difficult to separate the good from the bad in this because it wasn’t “all bad”, the gating is what every ruling class does so is to be expected but from a civilisation perspective it was a degeneration.
Julius Evola might be of interest for you on this topic.
I like your framing, Power grab was a gross oversimplification. It feels more accurate even though there's no way of ever knowing what happened from where & when we are.
Honestly man, the idea that I have a divine spark within me that I can use to level up my discernment is huge. I don't have to trust any words, I can use my own spark to guide me.
Maybe it's my arrogant delusion but I no longer feel that need to understand it all any more. That hunger for the knowing, for "gnosis" or even "enlightenment" is waning.
I think the Truth is revealing itself for those capable of recognising it. Most Bitcoiners have this capacity to recognise Truth from illusion.
