I don’t mean tv as a monitor for a computer. I mean TV in “monitor” mode because it’s not internet connected. Just a tv. No using whatever brain someone gave it. Just shows what you pipe to it.

That sounds remarkably sensible. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find any piece of technology that does not insist on having an opinion of its own. Give me a simple screen that follows instructions, nothing more.
And I'm saying that you might as well just buy a monitor (like one for a computer) instead of a TV.
