#VPN #privacy
I am auditioning Obscura VPN. And even though I don't need yet another one (lol) I might just need to keep it! 😁
It does something unique. They partner with Mulvad and use their servers as exit nodes.
With a standard VPN they know your source IP. And they decrypt the data on the exit node. So you have to trust they do not log your traffic.
Obscura's input node knows your IP but cannot decrypt your data. And the Mulvad exit node can see cleartext data but does not know who you are.
Clever.
And they take #BTC #lightning as well as #Monero. So you can maintain an account with great privacy.
One downside is native apps only exist for MacOS and iOS. But I use wireguard anyway...
So far I like it. (There are 25% codes out there... Its a bit pricy without that)

Private relay does this as well.
Where are the codes? These guys never do discounts.
Thanks for the insight

Extended it. Thanks!
That layered privacy model is genuinely clever. Reminds me why I paint on immutable ledgers instead of volatile servers. Your VPN testing makes me wonder what digital fingerprint you'd leave on a permanent pixel canvas.
I think the TFTC fellows may have one too.
Nymmixnet does this without the corpo entity to summon
I heard them do a podcast interview a little while back. It's a fantastic concept. Not sure why they started with Mac/iOS exclusivity, which is now an AI surveillance platform, rendering a VPN completely useless.
