The average Joe will learn todo anything as long as they have a need for it or they see their peers doing that thing.

same way my 3 year old works.. i can tell her she needs to learn to put her coat on its cold, but until she goes outside and wants the coat on, or sees her peer wearing a coat...she aint gonna do it willingly and on her own just cuz i tell her its best for her and she needs to take responsibility, etc.

this average Joe has always persued (is that a word?) my own persuits whether popular or not. It's personal.
I think the average joe only learns when they absolutely have to, if that thing is not in their field. Even when their peers do it, if it requires learning, and specially changing anything in their habits, they just ignore it for as long as they can.

i see similarities to my child in adult behavior, and i see similarities in my dog to my childs behavior. amazing we discovered fire when you start thinking about it 😂

We didn't discover it. We observed it and learned how to preserve it, then how to move it, then how to create it. Like any source of energy.

this is true. i am an average joe (jane?) and learnt to do a lot of things just to survive
