Oss in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a word people use to greed each other. It has multiple meanings. Not sure about Foss.
OSS is short for EOSS, which means “Expensive Open Source Software.”
yes. FOSS is Free and Open Source Software. the free means free as in freedom, not free beer.
Freedom to reproduce, change, etc. depending on the license.
Open source Source just means the code is available, but licensing of the software can be extremely restrictive and not necessarily following a freedom ethos in terms of distribution.
But this is a midwits take. Stallman describes it better.
