#asknostr
Can anyone tell me what all of the different log in methods are on this site Carson made?
Am I missing the "log in with your NOSTR ID" option?
Is the NOSTR ID login option poorly named such that if you don't already know the name of that particular login option, it is not apparent that that login option is for NOSTR ID logins?
It is one of the things that's not labeled and only has a picture?
I'm not using google to log in and I don't have a Github account because Github is intimidating AF for me to even look at, let alone attempt to navigate.

I only saw nostr login options. The create 'account' option isn't actually creating an account on the server, it's just generating an nsec inside your browser locally.
Pro tip: when someone shares a: Hey check out this new app I made or vibe coded
Don't go paste in your high value nsec. Just create a fresh one, or use a key signer like nos2x, alby, etc.
That's what I was looking for but most of the log in options were either Greek or Mandarin...in other words, if the developer did install a bridge across the chasm, they failed to label it using normie lingo.
I didn't see a button that was an obvious "log in with Alby" button.
Yup. Fresh apps like that you have to feel around a bit. As long as you don't paste in your high value nsec, you can't break anything.
I guess the question I'm trying to ask is how the hell does a noob know what to do to get started here?
Can I log in with my NOSTR ID somehow or not?
Do I have to jump through some hoops on the site to create an account or something?
I don't know how to begin without resorting to using a Google ID which I don't want to use.
I guess me and everyone like me will not be able to use this site for a while.
With alpha software you just have to develop thick skin. That's why they call it alpha software.
I don’t know what to do with this response. It doesn’t help me with the problem I am talking about.
If you want to answer one of the specific questions I asked above, that would be appreciated but I don’t know how to translate thick skin alpha software metaphors into anything useful.
Can I “log in” to that site with Alby or not?
Click the log in with nip07 message
If you're on mobile, you basically need nostr:nprofile1qqsth7fr42fyvpjl3rzqclvm7cwves8l8l8lqedgevhlfnamvgyg78spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7qnse3k or you can use kiwi browser with the nos2x extension
Idk what desktop site looks like
Just try every option without pasting in your high value nsec. If none of them work then the answer is: No, you can't.
Not worth it. I'm looking for a fast answer. I have too many other things to focus on. I don't need this.
Update: I did try clicking on the link in the main post one more time and THIS time, something different happened.
Why did something different happen this time?
No fuckin idea.
Why does everything have random malfunctions the first 3 times I look at it, then change to not being broken anymore?
WTF universe?
UPDATE: Apparently you have to click the main link FOUR times in order for it to acknowledge the Alby plugin?
I swear I looked at that site at least 3 times trying to figure out how the fuck I could log in.
I was about to give up but then it apparently noticed my browser plugin on the 4th try.
Yes. That is the nature of alpha (new) software. It's buggy. If you only expose yourself to mainstream-ish software then these ideas may seem a bit foreign.
That's strange ..Worked first time for me just now.
I had a similar issue with Hivetalk the first time I tried to use it.
Apparently if I have decided to try something, it will glitch the first time just to confuse me.
