Where did Monero come from?
Do we know who made it?
Is it still being controlled by the developer?
I'm actually curious about it. I don't know much about it.
I'm glad Monero is getting some respect.
I don't have any nor have ever, but every time I go back to the ideas the Satoshi built, and built on, I feel there are missing pieces to this.
Monero seems to have configured at least some of these pieces.
I esp. am interested in the distributed mining and obv. the privacy.
Cool stuff.
The *real* question we should be asking is why isn't the Bitcoin privacy being fixed?
😮😐
A few new additions I picked up 😉
"Surprising number of Monero lovers on #Nostr. It’s the only altcoin that I consider has a community of actual cypherpunks with similarly aligned values as bitcoin." -Guy Swann
"I have an issue when Bitcoiners get so closed-minded and says Moneros a shitcoin. No it's not. There's some brilliant people there and there's a lot to learn...I'm a fan of Monero." -Nicholas Gregory of Mercury Layer
"Cashu isn't an alternative to Monero. Monero is cool." -Calle
If bitcoin is king, Monero is the emperor!
If Bitcoin gets you into the ecosystem, Monero takes you to the next level.
This time last year, the ratio for BTC:ETH:XMR:ZEC donations via donate page addresses are around 40:20:20:1. We received more donations via Monero than Bitcoin and nearly all of the ETH came from a single, gigantic donation enough to hire a full time developer. Outside of Lightning (not official) then Monero is the only consistent, reliable flow of small crypto donations. ETH gets some as well but not as much.
Awesome! Makes sense. Thanks for the insight!
If you would run Garnet Nostr client or publish your donation address in your profile we can increase the XMR numbers.
Lol. Lu Derek, but nope.
Here's another one I missed :)

Up Shitcoin Mountain
Should specify Bitcoin ratio is higher because of the amount donated, not the amount of Donations themselves. Monero users donate more often, but Bitcoin users donate higher amounts.
Gotcha. Thought it was just a typo. Thanks for clarifying.
The GrapheneOS Foundation monero address is here:
I don't need my own Monero at this time.

Ay man I hope a mystery donar gives you 1 thousand xmr
You clearly know nothing about my political values. And there are plenty of other Bitcoiners, privacy advocates, and infosec professionals who would disagree with you. Have a good one.
