This is good to know. At the last Bitcoin meetup I did, someone was asking if there was a really good way of doing a POS and inventory system so normie businesses so they can accept Bitcoin and LN. I'm gonna have to bring this up next time I see them.
Yes, Zeus solved the accounting part of recording payments at their spot value too! That, along with unified inventory deductions solved a massive hurdle!
It was super simple. Like stupid simple. Once you enter two developer tokens zeus is connected to your square account. Using the square terminal like normal you simply select other payments then choose Zeus. Then open zeus to create qr code.
Been waiting for this for a LONG time. These are the types of things non-retailers wouldn't understand. But it is MASSIVE for small business adoption of bitcoin/lightning. It's one thing to pester merchants to accept bitcoin but until it is seamless, your one-time $10 purchase alone is simply not enough incentive. Onwards ๐Ÿซก
Next up is nostr private relay integration (in a box). This has both front end and back end benefits to retailers. This can provide immutable inventory record keeping across multiple store locations while keeping data internal. Hook it up with the zeus/square integration and now you've got a fully integrated system. Employees can be assigned an npub and connect to the store relay. They use nip-05 logins at the terminals to record sales and commissions. Keeps everyone honest. This also enables seamless customer loyalty accounts which can easily sync up their purchase/returns history, lightning rewards points, and other similar features.
