I imagine then that you're really not gonna love hearing that this happened. Because of course it did. Because the way to address spam on a decentralized permissionless network is with proof of work. If more people used Bitcoin as money, blockspace's cost would go up, and spam would be a lot less economical. For the time being, it's here, whether or not people feel like 51% attacking Bitcoin.
