Yeah that's what I do with the met office map the forecast is terrible 😁. I think nostr is most underutilised for microcontroller devices. But its a bit of a chicken and egg situation with that atm because most people using btc/lightning on nostr are generally spread far apart geographically. So unless you have a use case where its some you observe over the internet (like lightning goats) or it starts say a manufacturing process its still lacking a major use case for now. Perhaps normies using btc on square might help consumers realise they can use it with no friction and finally open up nostr bitcoin mass market products/services.

Completely agree. I’ve already bought a few things because I saw them here and I found value in them. I also think censorship and algorithms on legacy media will at some point just make them unusable and will push people here. We just have to keep it running.

To me nostr’s MET radar moment is user owned identity + markets across any client - no lock in, shadowbans, or forced KYC for small trade. At Masters of The Lair we bet portable reputation is the sticky bit.

I barely look at the book of faces any more and its largely the algo which puts me off. I remember when I'd see a timeline of my friends posts. That was useful. These days its 99% AI slop. Are others ready for responsibility though? That's what I wonder, because that's what key management is. I can see that remaining a sticking point.

I'm convinced markets is the key - but if I start talking about multiple clients and tsking your identity with you between them people still seem to struggle with that idea, at least, the ones I've spoken to so far.

Actually I don’t know if it’ll be a problem. Depends on how seriously you take the identity you create. I had a previous ID with the same handle but I accidentally deleted the whole profile which I regret but not that big a deal for me. Now I know. So people will make mistakes and learn. Like now I’d like to join various apps etc but they ask for your ‘nsec’ key and I’m very weary of giving that out. Basically I think people will figure things out quickly when they need to.
