I like to do around 8-10 reps for the first four movements and then 5-8 reps on the last one.
When doing these, try to keep your foot as flat as you can and avoid rolling side to side. If you’re struggling to lift the toe(s) you want, you can use your hands to block the ones that aren’t supposed to move. You can also work one foot at a time to make it less challenging.
These will be frustrating at first, but It will get much better with time and practice.
These are great for developing sensory feedback from the floor and to strengthen those intrinsic foot muscles. A big problem in modern society is that we wear overly supportive shoes and don’t spend a lot of time barefoot or training our feet specifically. Then over time all of our intrinsic foot muscles become very weak, which can become problematic.
