I just went to the bakery and saw a lot of woke people dressed in rainbow colours on the way.
Then I realised they're not woke... they're just dressed like it. It's Carnival (Fasching) today.

Nope, very colourful dress and suits are original from old costumes in Italian carnival from centuries.
Check the Arlecchino character for example. This was because they created those costumes by patching more old dresses together, they were poor plebs trying to celebrate and make fun of nobles at same time.
