Makes no sense to me that freedom of speech is being violated on such a major and historic scale and it isn’t being talked about in this bubble. Nostr seems to only care when X gets banned in other countries. Just such a missed opportunity to purple pill more people. @Ian & I are busy building @nextblock but it’s no way near ready. Other established Nostr companies/apps are missing a huge adoption wave.

Wishing you wind at your back on your @nextblock project. I never used X or TikTok but support any subversion of State effectiveness in suppressing free speech.

I think we see the development priorities that reflect our community here on #Nostr. The foundation of this community are folks from #Bitcoin Twitter who got tired of dealing with not owning their identity, social graph, or content, and dealing with shadow-banning and being slaves to the algorithm there. As a result of this, we see that most clients are some permutation of a Twitter-clone. We really have very little selection when it comes to clients outside of that format of content. Long-form would be the closest 2nd, probably, with Habla, Highlighter, YakiHonne, Blogstack and now Primal supporting that content type, and only a few of them focusing entirely on it. Video content we have what? Flare.pub? Anything else out there that supports kinds 34235 or 34236, let alone focuses specifically on 34236 the way TicTok does? I can't think of anything, which seems to indicate that it's not something our community has really been pushing for.
