Yes. I have toyed with how to make payments truely decentralized and it involoves having everyone issue their own currency and everyone acting as an exchange. But that has its own issues. It is functionally similar to just letting everyone pick their own payment type which has better stability and backing. If we get some automated exchange built into evey client, we are golden. If not we will depend on centralized exhanges.

this is the way. providing liquidity is everyone's responsibility.
