Convincing people they need another social media isn't the answer. It's great that the social side will be there when they arrive, but people won't come for that. They'll come because Nostr quietly solved a problem in their everyday life. At its core it's permissionless, decentralised data storage signed by keys you own. You can even encrypt data to yourself, spread it across relays, and restore it anywhere with just your key. Which is exactly why your Nostr key needs to be secured properly and recoverable offline, because once your data lives behind it, that key is everything. That's what we've built with the Favilla KEY. That's precisely the problem — as much as people love to complain about censorship, most of them actually like it, as long as it happens to someone they don't like. And if it happens to them, the solution they want to see is not a platform that gets rid of it, but one that allows THEM to ban or punish the people that banned them (see Twitter). The fact of the matter is that most people simply aren't ready for a censorship-free platform. Those people have no need for Nostr, and we wouldn't want them here anyways.
