It’s not the users fault, but if you’d asked me 20 years ago if we’d ever have to explain what a native application is…. View quoted note →

Your explanations were good though! I’m still not fully clear on what a longform client really is.
Think of something like substack + rss reader
Longform means stuff like articles and blog posts. Longer content than a twitter post, and often contains formatting in Markdown, etc…
So the client would be to view just those. Nostur does have this built in as a tab on iOS. Yakihonne is an example of a web version.
Ah, so a client that is really focused on bringing together longform content. Not notes/posts.
Yeppers! I honestly think it’s an area Nostr has a lot of untapped potential. I’d like to see dedicated relays with long storage guarantees though - but it’s coming.
Excellent. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Yeah i would like a separate app for that. Less distraction. I loved the gemini protocol for that. It’s like the web except you can only make and link markdown documents. The problem with gemini is that you have to run a server which raises the bar for a person just wanting to write something. nostr fixes this.
Sounds good to me. I’m one of the weird ones that actually enjoys reading longer well written notes on nostr (also never understand those who reply with a “tl:dr” as a kind of put down). Separate app makes sense.
