using amethyst on android. i'm connected to 4 of 360 relays!! before the update i had 25 relays I was always connected to. how is this better?

It automatically connects to the relays of people you follow to ensure your not missing anything from them. But its used selectively, not for everything.

You miss out on less nostr posts. If someone you follow has a relay in common that for example has a few posts mirrored but they no longer use that relay or its one of those relays scanning for some messages this will make you see everything they post.

It must be showing you the relays it is connecting to in order to retrieve the content referenced in who you are following. “Outbox model” someone you follow has set a relay where they put content so amethyst is checking there for content.

I was happy with veing connected to less than 5 relays The more you connect to, the more data uswd and battery drain. Question still stands if amethyst v1.0 connects you to all of those relays automatically shown when you click your profile pic. For me it says 116 atm...
