I was more thinking along the lines of an individual's harm surface. Like if you get denied a flight, you still have alternate transportation options so you could overcome TSA's closed hardware. But if you get denied usage of financial services, it can very easily grind your life to a halt. Zero trust (or desire for use) for a closed hardware access system that deals with money in any capacity.

I see what you’re saying. Threat models differ though. If I couldn’t fly, I would preserve my existing work through cyberspace, but cross country sales would be so much harder.
