Are there any plans in the works for nostr nsecs to move to a 12 word seed phrase for recovery? The private key storage issue will probably scare normies when the time comes to onboard. 12 words written down is much easier. #asknostr

I want a better solution then 12 random words. That's so annoying of a recovery.
Beats a 200 character nsec I guess π€·ββοΈ
I prefer that because it's one line.
I donβt think making it stupid people proof does much more than bring more stupidity into the space.
If the person can grasp the concept of a 12 seed then 24 should almost certainly be just as easy.
Saying we should make bitcoin even easier for lazy people really pumps the ponzi feels.
I guess we gotta start onboarding every manner of human debt generator, so number can go upβ¦
Huh? I'm talking about nostr not bitcoin π€
i think nsec its better in nostr scenario bc you need to use your nsec everywhere, ao its easier to copy paste one line. But if you want to ,you can keep it as a 12 word offline as a backup and to restore it you just convert to nsec offline.
> You can use BIP-85 to generate a BIP-39 seed, then derive the Nostr keys on the NIP-06 path.

If you use a signing extension like alby, they already allow you to derive your npub from a recovery phrase.
Great. Makes my point even more clear.
