Nostr feels a bit like a party full of people with ADHD.
Lots of excitement, but difficult to hold anyone's attention long enough to have a conversation.

Donβt necessarily agree 100%, seen some lovely in-depth conversations here π
What do you want to talk about?
You can count me in on a 1 year + discussion with you.
I want 10 weeks off (announced at the day of my vacation(s) start(s) at the latest) and a maximum response time of 5 days on my side. Do you have such claims as well?
Do you join our experiment until 3rd of March 2024 at the earliest?
Letβs talk about lessons we wished we learned earlier in life π
I'm okay with this topic as long as we don't scare away #[3] .
βShould we just jump start into some topic or take some time to find out what's the common ground?
Jump in! I wish I knew what purchasing power was.
#[4] , do you want to join?
OK. Jump until #[3] appears.
Is your purchasing power question related to your earlier question?
Now I understand. You answered your own question. π
I use the word purchasing power a lot since I became a bitcoiner. Usually I replace the word money with purchasing power.
However I feel quite often a bit weird when doing so.
βHow you use pruchasing power actively?
π
Just my opinion π€π
In retirement planning! People are afraid to run out of money while they are alive. That is why the invest into mutual funds, stocks, annuities, etc. They do that because our money (dollars) are designed to steal from us (inflation steals our power). So understanding the race of keeping up with purchasing power is the foundation of our monetary system. That realization is sickening! And for that, I think #Bitcoin is the solution to the better money. Bitcoin removes the complicated financial planning necessity because the solution is to simply save sats because the purchasing power is designed to GO UP!!! Stack sats folks β‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ
Sounds good. Let's do this.
π―
What you are describing is the usecase of bitcoin which orange pilled me.
Thanks to Parker Lewis's article 'Bitcoin is the Great Definancialization' I've found myself with my jaw dropped to the floor reborn into a different world. And I enjoy every moment in this world since then. π
This is the article: https://nakamotoinstitute.org/mempool/bitcoin-is-the-great-definancialization/
The article was also republished in The Bitcoin Times Ed 3, free download behind email wall available: https://bitcointimes.io/product/legend-of-prometheus/
Do you remember how you've came to this idea?
#[4] : #[8] and me are at this point currently. Can you come up with your thoughts on this or is this topic not your cup of tea?
Letβs do it!
Wow I need to read that article after work ββ‘οΈ
Love your input!
The thing that hit me the hardest was listening to an episode of The Bitcoin Standard podcast explaining how money is created when people go into debt. But debt has different costs for different people. If you have lots of equity you get debt cheaper than someone without much equity. This results in increasing inequality
Did you read the book? Such a great readβ‘οΈ
Yeah. And the fiat standard.
If you have the time, write me 1 or 2 quotes or things from the article. I'm looking for a good reason to read my genesis article by myself again. But I've got a lot of ADHD stuff going on around me. Help! π²
βI donβt know what HD is but my doctor says I have 80 of themβ
What specifically has made your life better since reading the article?
Specifically: The cascades of new knowledge that SUNK INTO me and experiencing myself responding to the same stimuli with completely different reactions. I feel like I experienced a personal Copernican revolution.
Just a few keywords of my input stations:
- How an economy grows
- the bitcoin standard
- 21 lessons h/t #[10]
- bitcoiner.guide h/t #[11]
- bisq.network and what a contract really is
- All editions of The bitcoin times bitcointimes.io
- nakamotoinstitute.org
- many many more
How I saw my values and reaction schemes change:
- from environmentalist to I don't know
- from political left to f*ck you all you corrupt state influences plus there are no states just corporations
- from let me explain this to you again until you understand to if you don't get it or believe it I don't have the time to convince you. Sorry.
- from feeling deep inside me that saving purchasing power the way I was sucks and benefits not me but the goes brrrrrr gang but having no alternative to haha, take my worhless digital numbers and give me those sats that cheap (I still wonder everytime I convert low energy money to high frquency sats which lost soul is my counterparty)
- many many more
To you think the fiat standard is really worth the read except for entertainment aka. having a good time while reading?
#[10] : can you follow up to this depth or do you want to being up a new perspective of the OP question?
#[3]
The first few chapters were good, but then he gets unhinged and goes down some tangents. It is quite cringe.
It's a pity because it could have been a great book to give people to introduce the need for bitcoin.
Thanks for the reading rec! Iβm still a lot less knowledgeable on bitcoin and finance so Iβll take the original question in a different direction.
I wish Iβd learned how to learn. Still an ongoing process but realizing the fun of immersing myself in something I have no familiarity with and being forced to figure it out has been a big step recently. What have each of you come to know about learning? What are your processes?
I changed from over educated techniques to just follow the white rabbit of my interests.
Then I cut down on all interests except bitcoin and I got monothematic for about two surroindings of the earth around the sun. Now I came back with other interests but I look at them through the eyes of Satoshi. If they don't fit my new view of the world and values, I don't feel anything inside my gut and I leave them aside.
However there are endless intersections of bitcoin to my daily life, therefore I can learn everthing again from a different perspective.
For an already educated being it all boils down to: Don't forget that you forget. π¦
#[9] #[11] and #[4] does one of you have something to bring up to keep our conversation going? π§βπ€
You have ADHD or is that figure of speech? I just got screened for it and scored highly in innatentive ADHD.
Just checking back into our conversation that was ment to go on for a year π
I don't care about ICD-10 states of some random entities since I don't know who I am. Don't know at all. So why should I undertake a journey to a concurrent stream of false positive diagnosises at all? If not for the fun alone, there's no free lunch. Unfortunately.
However if you like to get in touch with me in DM's about that I can leave the figures of speech behind my thumbs and talk openly.
Furthermore I appreciate you, nostr:npub1wvtljy7rmeeeaqat9hwxwq9g7h90ghavtgpvd2yxk400ndlrf4qsytjhd0, doubling down on our personal hellthread.
Since ABCD-blablablabla doesn't want to get purified in my time and space, no matter how hard I let go of it, entities are fucking around with my most precious resource like bunnies with a infinite carrot dispenser at hand.
Then there are some real weird shit sociopaths around the corner and I assume Tyler Durden would recommend me to pure some acid in one of my body openings to get going safely.
What do you think about that twist in our one year talk?
Just to make it clear and explicit: Nor I or anyone with control over the nsec of nostr:npub106pakcnr9568ykcz8vdtgt3kfxmpv7g9n5sxjsrwp9rp9urrz7lsakrt56 is in danger of suicidal extinction or self injury in any form. Neither does a user of said nsec plan to do harm to any living entity in the universe currently. We are all in heaven and feel good, no matter what creeps are lurking around us.
It's a figure of speech, not intended to disgrace anyone or anything.
Are you sure you want this stamp of yours? I know the tradeoffs can match with the wants and needs. I'm just asking if you choose, this path freely as in self-sovereignity.
