More musings on femininity:
You can’t perform femininity. Femininity is not self-aware. True femininity is a built-in identity. It exists in the subconscious, like breathing. But unlike breathing, once you pull it into consciousness, it ceases to exist.
In its place, false femininity arises, which can manifest in two main ways. On one hand, it can look like mousiness, weakness of character, and an oppressed spirit. On the other hand, it can manifest as a “divine femininity” superiority complex or a theatrical cuteness.
Interestingly, all of these have something in common, which is inauthenticity. They are performative. These false displays of femininity crave to be seen and will quite literally pose with feminine props (purses, hair bows, the latest fashion) craving the eye of a camera, whether online or in real life. It is masked attention-seeking. Which is the exact opposite of femininity.
Femininity does not seek attention, but ironically real femininity draws attention organically because it is so beautiful. It is so beautiful because it is real, from the soul, not an outward performance. It is not a show, rather it is embodied in a real woman, which makes it so powerful and awe-inspiring.
