I will say what people are afraid to say. It is damn expensive for its purpose.
If you find it to be outside of your budget, I offer a series of detailed video tutorials to build it yourself from scratch. A great project for a rainy day! 😅

Thank you for your incredible work sir. We are lucky to have you. These look awesome!
nostr:npub1txwy7guqkrq6ngvtwft7zp70nekcknudagrvrryy2wxnz8ljk2xqz0yt4x I would like to build my own, I am currently at video #4 bitcoin core. I wondered, is there a tutorial that to run all traffic through tor?
LMAO one minute later in video 4 you address routing through tor.
nostr:npub1txwy7guqkrq6ngvtwft7zp70nekcknudagrvrryy2wxnz8ljk2xqz0yt4x you re a legend thanks for the great tutorials!
nostr:npub1txwy7guqkrq6ngvtwft7zp70nekcknudagrvrryy2wxnz8ljk2xqz0yt4x could you share the link to the electrs tutorial, I might run both electrs and fulcrum with the same machine as a backup. I like corrupting fulcrum from time to time ;)
nostr:npub1txwy7guqkrq6ngvtwft7zp70nekcknudagrvrryy2wxnz8ljk2xqz0yt4x is there a particular reason you do not install sparrow server on the node?
Probably because whirlpool cli/ gui is used instead.
And probably because sparrow server didn't exist when I created the series.
and sparrow server still needs tmux
What's the hardware? Dell I see, but which model?
Depends on what is available. 7040, 7050, 9020, etc.
Now THAT is a node I can feel comfortable with. No docker crap, just pure config files. Makes me feel at home 😊 thanks for your hard work, nostr:npub1txwy7guqkrq6ngvtwft7zp70nekcknudagrvrryy2wxnz8ljk2xqz0yt4x!

Is there a node out there that can still be used on a local network without internet connectivity?
#asknostr
and here we see the evolution of nodes from raspberry pis into more robust equipment. upgrade & strengthen the infrastructure you better help the network.
side note: how long do y'all think before the entire IBD makes 2 TB SSD obsolete?
Can confirm, good product. Far more reliable than my Raspberry Pi’s. YouTube tutorials are excellent.
is it more fast to view mempool or to do anything than in a raspPI ?
These mini pcs are def more stable than a raspi pi and imo the way to go if you run your own node.
And they are cheaper too.
E.g. Lenovo i5 mini PC starting at 90 $ on ebay.
Absolutely! I'd highly recommend going through the tutorials to build your own. Well worth your time.
I've got a new series planned for 2024 when Ubuntu 24.04 gets released!
Thank you, but no. Why not? Serious problems with back doors. The Intel Management Engine (ME) is included in these machines. The ME from INTEL and AMD is in the platform controller hub of almost all modern Intel motherboards, i.e. on the entire range of devices on the market.
Why use the Raspberry Pi 4? The Raspberry Pi 4 is not affected by the Intel Management Engine (ME). The Raspberry Pi 4 uses an ARM-based processor, specifically the Broadcom BCM2711 SoC, which contains a quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC.
This is a serious but hitherto underestimated topic that has been completely ignored by the mainstream.
