France is pushing to mandate encryption backdoors; forcing apps like WhatsApp and Signal to break security for police access. This “Narcotrafic” law is one of the most extreme surveillance attacks in EU history. The law demands messaging services decrypt conversations of suspected drug traffickers within 72 hours or face massive fines — €1.5M per individual, 2% of global revenue for companies. If passed, this kills privacy in France. It sets a dangerous precedent for the entire EU. Encryption isn’t a crime; but surveillance at this scale should be. image

This is starting to get out of hand. Using excuses to justify infringing on everybody's privacy is just the canary in the coal mine. This will only get worse. The time has come for users to learn how to use encryption and messaging services such as @SimpleX Chat that when self hosted on a @Start9 server, cannot be breached or stopped.
I am sure it will not kill privacy. Only for the normies. Criminals generally do not really care if something is outlawed or not afaik.
