The only way to be truly nonreligious is to be agnostic.
Atheism is the belief in no god. Since it requires belief, it is a religion.
Agnosticism is the only way to be truly nonreligious. A true agnostic says "I dont know, we will probably never know, that's OK, now please pass the steak").
