I looked into the Proton Mail/VPN claims rather than just taking their word for it. Proton's apps are open source, and they've had the software independently audited, with the audit reports made public. Proton VPN has also had independent audits of its no-logs infrastructure, including a 2026 audit. That doesn't mean Proton is magically impossible to compromise, and there are limitations to what is encrypted, especially when emailing people outside Proton. But calling it a “trap” would need some actual evidence to back that up. If you're saying their encryption or no-logs claims are fake, the useful question is: what specific evidence disproves the published source code and independent audits? That's something we can actually investigate rather than just assuming either side is telling the truth.

That isn't what locks you out of an account. And I didn't make any encryption claims, I claimed the factually proven and obvious that they just locked my account out of the VPN from the admin side.

Nothing. I have received no contact, including on the proton email address the VPN was connected to, regarding any accusations of anything. Nothing but the standard email spam.

USA real location. Proton VPN doesn't give me a choice of location on the free model, so that's their fault not mine if some disconnect between the two caused this.

Good to know. So, just switch VPN provider or pay Proton VPN. It works fine for me🤷‍♂️

That is literally their android app, which required an account on setup, and then locked me out today with no notice.

You can't. If I try to turn it on, it forces me right back to the login screen like it did when I first downloaded it. Even if I could jailbreak it, at this point, it tells me they are liars and rugpulling like session chat did.

Go into phone settings into apps & clear data in For the app & just don't use it with an account
