Cooking question, salmon on the grill. Do you use cedar planks? I have cooked salmon several ways, but this way seems the most consistently moist and flavorful. Do you use a another way?

Only had one experience of using plank. Gives you a lot less direct heat so you get that slower cooked succulent texture. If you’re aiming for a smoked taste there won’t be much

Cedar planks on a smoker is amazing. But the best salmon I’ve ever done wasn’t as an entree but as a treat. Candied smoked salmon pieces marinated and brushed/sprinkled with gin, maple syrup, spices and brown sugar, then smoked.

@SuperDave it’s great that way and also to use a lid and cover while cooking evenly cooks and stays moist on the blackstone. I usually put a piece of frozen dill butter on top before I cover. I also add a splash of pickle juice before I serve.
