This RAM price crisis is insane. It is close to the point where the RAM costs as much as the Linux eval board’s original price. the bubble can’t pop sooner

It's because they are artificially holding back all the rare earths minerals required to make them. The rare earth minerals are not even rare. They just made it seems rare to keep a monopoly on it. I believe China and corporations have created this fake scarcity.
They transitioned production from dimms to HBM for all the AI data center builds. HBM is more profitable, plus now it creates a shortage driving up profits on dimm memory.
