The desktop version of Keychat doesn’t yet support signing in with Amber. Amber supports both NIP-46 and NIP-55. On Android, Amber uses NIP-55 to sign in to Keychat. We’re still undecided about supporting NIP-46.

What about Nowser for signing on desktops?

Nowser is similar to Amber and also implements NIP‑46, NIP‑55, and NIP‑7.
