Make an extension DL to add the functionality of zaps without using the Apple Store?

Oh, a plugin system would be an interesting subversion. Apple couldnt claim Damus supports, or even contains, zaps or monetary movement while anyone could add the extension in. Has Apple set a precedent on app extensions like this yet?
