I've grown them a few years, they're easy. For winters, after the second year they grow huge underground, when the shoots die back just dig them up and put a bulb with a knot back in the ground for 2 years later. As long as it's below the frost line it will be fine. You'll lose a few every year, but once you get them propagated out you'll never run out. They're reasonably resilient plants.
