With my friends, i talk about how their lack of interest in privacy doesn’t only expose all of the above, but how such nihilism plays a role in enabling the surveillance infrastructures that suppresses the people who need it the most (whistleblowers, dissidents, journalists…)
And since privacy is a spectrum and i can only be as private as my circle of relationships allows, i encourage them to start the path. Start small, dont give out unnecessary information about themselves, dont trade privacy for convenient “log into everything with google”, and to learn at their pace.
