I keep forgetting to add updates. Today I planted some peas in the raised beds. I also soaked half of them in water to see how they germinate differently. The propagation box is almost full now. I added some magnolia, fig, creeping thyme, willow and a few others. Most of the seeds I started have now sprouted and are looking 💪🏼. I’ll probably plant out some broccoli and other brassicas soon now that I’ve rebuilt the raised bed cover. I was also given a whole bunch of stuff for growing mushrooms 🍄‍🟫. You know me, time to learn a new #skill. #Mycology has started to peak my interest as I’ve learned about soil food web. For now I have some “fun” spores. Soon I plan on growing some other types. Have a good night nostrland. image

Yep, the trick with grain jars is getting the moisture level right. Takes some trial and error. You might loose a few rice bags to contamination but it's also way less work than pressure cooking the jars.
Ah! I see. I did have a couple contaminated bags. I’m going to burry them in the garden since I added a bunch of manure in the fall. Maybe get lucky with some fruits.
