Don’t worry, @Gigi —It’s painful to watch in this transition phase. We used to all build our own houses. But, today, one couldn’t convict me of not caring if I found and adapted a design I love through an architect, curated and approved the materials list for the builder, shelled out cash for the construction crews with regular guardrail check-ins with the GC. You are right that there are a bunch of shit houses out there that would never be worth living in for any meaningful amount of money. However, there are a ton of houses that do have care put into their production and have care invested in them as residences. AI will fully reinvent the software development and maintenance landscape, as well as visual and written communications (the latter likely through reversion to physical and personal). There will be a bunch of shit to wade through as this change coalesces with our tolerances. But we will get better at curating the worthwhile tools and messages. I plan to use AI for both of these categories, but I also do not plan to fill the world with sloppypasta. (such a perfect word).
