Hahaha, I went through exactly the same thing, word for word, for 4 years at a big ecommerce startup. For real. They also had this argument that "we need more dev teams" and we always joked that if one woman can have a baby in 9 months, then 9 women could have a baby in one month. Just yesterday I found out the company has shrunk by 80%, shut down their web division, and now only operates with a mobile app that's getting absolutely terrible reviews on Google Play Store.
