an interesting aspect of the damus app store rejections is that apple is blocking them because of bitcoin integration - they want their cut of the revenue - in the future I expect apple to block most nostr apps because of freedom of speech - they will cite some criminals that use the protocol to do illegal things - the only productive path forward is to expect more nostr restrictions by apple and route around them

They participated in the coordinated deplatforming of Alex Jones. That’s the precedent they use again when the platform is “uncontrollable”.
The gatekeepers will continue to fight. the 30/70 revenue split served its purpose when it was introduced, but should now be a relic of the past. Apple is holding on as long as they can as it is a cash cow for them. They can't hold the line forever
just stop building for iOS. I know it sucks for people have iphones, but maybe that's what we need. there's lots of new apps being built for Mac and iOS first cuz reasons and android users have to wait. why not build for everything else instead and make apple users wait?

Oh, it wont be hard. Look at the degens in my block list and thats all they need to ban Nostr.
Maybe reposition Damus as "Nostr Browser" - they are not (yet) blocking browsers that also enable all sorts of things...
I’m using a few different NOSTR apps on the iPhone and nostr:npub1wnwwcv0a8wx0m9stck34ajlwhzuua68ts8mw3kjvspn42dcfyjxs4n95npub1wnwwcv0a8wx0m9stck34ajlwhzuua68ts8mw3kjvspn42dcfyjxs4n95l8l8 seems to be doing well. Can be installed as an app and PWA. Enjoying the apps that are not degrading the UI UX experience.
