I'm a big fan of nostr:npub1h2qfjpnxau9k7ja9qkf50043xfpfy8j5v60xsqryef64y44puwnq28w8ch for an easy to set up custodial wallet that integrates well with Nostr. However, this incident should be a reminder that all custodians are single points of failure for large numbers of users. Yes, self-custody has a learning curve, and you become your own single point of failure, but the point is, when your infrastructure goes down, you are the only one affected, not hundreds, thousands, or even millions, depending on the popularity of the service. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpw5qnyrxdmctda962pvng7ltzvjzjg09ge57dqqxfjn42ft2rcaxqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnrda5kummn9e5k7tcqyr2nhe5tspdvqz97khpd6vxtpxa9xuxflk20yc7pcqgmupqe76wgshj33ml

People need to get better at infrastructure management and disaster recovery planning. It could have been worse but there's no reason for an outage that long at that scale. We can do better. I'm available for companies looking for a consultant to improve their resiliency.
