Yikes. They don't even allow lightning deposits and the bill pay is too damn complex anyway.
I feel so rugged by Fold, it turned to doodoo almost as soon as it went public. It's one of the few things I was going around telling people about and I think I'm most annoyed because I feel embarrassed because I was proven wrong.

Fold was great for a few years. I used it and stacked so many sats paying my house mortgage and other bills

they allowed you to earn sats back on online purchases and then sats back on certain physical store purchases before they went full shitcoin. i would use them in very specific scenarios. they still have about 6K sats of mine, but i'll never get.
Fold has been great IMO even as the earn as declined (not surprised by this tho). I’m just wondering if they’re actually shitcoining now.
Also they say they’ve launched their credit card in the news, I’ve been on the waitlist for that forever and I haven’t received any updates on that.
the gamification just became not worth it for me. peak fold was paying your credit card bill and stacks sats, double dipping the rewards :)

Peak fold was great. But I get more 2% cash back on my CC and I use that to buy sats. I’m only getting like 0.5%-1% back with Fold now
True but I’m happy to get 0.5-1% back IN sats. The earn from full fiat CCs is higher but the friction to get the rewards back as cash then going to buy bitcoin with that is kind of a whole thing. I just actually want to try to Fold CC but it feels like a mythical product to me at this point.
That’s fair. I have a pretty simple workflow for me. Cash out my CC rewards to strike and pay an invoice to my lightning node.

I mean, can't I just use simplex normally? Or will I need to go to an exchange and buy kyc chuxky cheese coins and then spend them to send messages to people?
It is hard enough to onboard my normie friends and family and get them off of nonsovereign tech.
I betcha it’s the same part that you find “unexpected” results when you’re trying to find the nearest “Automatic Teller Machine” by looking for its initials. Steer clear.
Pro tip: If you’re in another country, let’s say Germany, and you search “German ATM,” the video results will give you a great POV walking guide to the ATM nearest to you!
