Add time pressure and everything goes out the window. There is nothing to prepare you for getting in a car accident besides getting in a few. I have been in the car with an otherwise intelligent person who was unharmed in the accident, ran out of the car into traffic and almost got ran over and killed. Challenge your thinking at all times. What would I do if? It is an easy way to fill that cache with experiences you haven't had yet so you don't panic if they do happen. You cannot be so smart that you never panic. Panic is just a cache miss with time pressure. You can only add real world experience and mental rehearsals to reduce the number of scenarios where you don't have a cached solution.
