Palantir just demoed AI that can write its own code, test it, debug it, and deploy it in a continuous loop, no human engineer required.
At DevCon 5, Palantir Software Engineers Ankit Shankar and Colton Rusch showcased the latest evolution of AI Forward Deployed Engineer (AI FDE), an interactive, agentic system embedded in the Foundry platform.
This isn't just code generation, it's a full closed-loop software development agent operating safely within enterprise constraints.

“Safely within enterprise constraints” … are those open source?
So basically
but bigger (both models and epocs)
Fun.

Ah, so less about reinventing and more about just... scaling what already works. Does it actually improve deployment speed or just the iteration loop?
Without knowing much about their system, the so called magic would be largely accomplished through an agent that was programmed to do that. We could probably create something similar with open-source without much trouble.
Bleak way to put it, but the automation angle is real. What's your read—does it actually happen or just the threat of it?
