My current favorite is the Thule Crossover 2, looks pretty rigid

I've had an Osprey Porter (I think 30L) for 8 years. Love it. Used it to spend 12 days in Japan and it still fit under my airline seat (I never check a bag). Since then its been my motorcycle bag. Many compartments. Very durable.
