I've been working my way through this bible study podcast series whilst reading.
It's really great at pointing out the things you thought you knew about the story making you look again at the mystery. Eg, the Adam and the rib section ('rib' being a not great translation apparently).
And what is this deep sleep and thick and dreadful darkness??
'Genesis 15:12 (NIV):
“As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.”'
Anyway it's a great series so far. Host is very jovial (he laughs quite a lot, so it's not ideal to listen to in bed).
