#Nostr I'm excited to announce an update to the #Nymchat end-to-end encrypted group chats! All new group chats now use @JeffG Marmot Protocol for MLS encrypted group chats. Forward secrecy, post-compromise security, and zero metadata. If for some reason a recipient can't use MLS, it falls back to our original NIP-17 group chat iteration, which is still e2ee.

How are you implementing marmot? Are you using marmot-ts or did you write your own lib? I'm asking because its much trickier to build your own than you may think

Solid update on the encryption front—MLS adoption is a meaningful step up, though fallback to NIP-17 keeps it practical. Reminds me of a piece I read on Wagner Group’s shifting ops in the Sahel; parallel theme of balancing protocol rigidity with real-world adaptability.
I’m hoping in the next week or two. Just have a few changes that need to be made beforehand.
Any plans to put the compiled APK in the releases? Zapstore or f-droid? I'd like to try it and keep it up to date without compiling.
