I used to do the same for a long time. A more advanced technique I employ nowadays is repeating the consumption (I don’t think the doses need to be large to get in touch with Amanita in the first place) for several days. A well‑tested schedule in my network is five days of Amanita tea after sunset followed by two days without Amanita tea. However, I think it doesn’t change the perception very much, whichever schedule I choose, as long as you can feel that you’re getting into the groove of Amanita and can stay in that groove without your body wanting to withdraw or you are unable to get the feeling because the dose is too low or there is too much noise around you.
My main focus when consuming Amanita is reducing the noise before and during the experience. Otherwise it’s very easy to overlook the substances teachings completely.
