Recent trip to the range and witnessed someone shooting with kestrel a garmin chrono range finder and an app on his phone. Now i knew what the purpose for each one was but i wondered were these tools or crutches. Reading wind, understanding ballistics and fundamentals of marksmanship are skills that you have to develop but now i see Applied ballistics and "pay to play" shooters. Take the tools away can you still get on paper and zero the rifle? As we develop technology dont forget to learn how to function without it. #gunstr

Yes. It's important to define what the intent is. If it's to be a good big game hunter or survival shooter or SWAT shooter then not relating on tools is important. But if your goal is to ego shoot the soup can at 1000 yards then let them have their fun. Haha the real fun is getting them to admit it is ego shooting.
