#MedicineForHope
I am joining this campaign for my grandparents, whom I lovingly call Nanay and Tatay. I live with them, so I see their daily struggles and how important their maintenance medicines are.
My Nanay has been living with diabetes, high creatinine (kidney problems), and high uric acid for about 10 years. She also had stomach surgery in the past. Since then, she has been taking maintenance medicines every day and regularly goes for her check-ups. She is scheduled for another check-up this month.
My Tatay has been taking maintenance medicines for 34 years. He has hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol, high creatinine (kidney problems), and high uric acid. He also had a mild stroke before, and over time, he lost his eyesight. Despite his condition, he continues to take his prescribed medicines and attends his regular check-ups. He is also scheduled for another check-up this month.
Watching them take several medicines every day reminds me how difficult it is to live with chronic illnesses. We do our best to support them, and we continue to hope and pray for their good health.
Thank you to the Medicine for Hope Campaign for giving families like ours the opportunity to share our story. We truly appreciate this initiative.
