It's the single malt whisky makers that blow my mind.
8 years before before they even make a cent on their product & then you have the 10 & 14 year old bottles. So much of their product just simply evaporates.

So many of them just buy already distilled and aged pure Spirits though. The black box on that is thick.
The ones that do it right, I absolutely agree
Yeah that didn't surprise me.
The distilled spirit is the easy bit & probably has the least impact on the taste of the final drop.
As you've found with wine, taste is only 1 part of the whole experience.
So many short cuts to take on the flavor side and you gotta think they're taking those if they're taking the shortcuts on the spirit side
