Just moved my 🌾 from Ledger to Coldcard. This feels so good. #Bitcoin #Plebchain

Why a smart move? I can see a big advantage in that you don’t coordinate with the same crew that made the device, but what are the big reasons to make the switch? I ask, as CC is less accessible for a new entrant than a Ledger
Common misconception. It couldn’t be simpler if you follow @npub1rxys...hnp8 or @npub1ahxj...5ech and one of their guides. A x1 in difficult adjustment to swap our ledger gives you a x10 of knowledge and confidence in your ColdCard device and your ability to self custody and manage it properly.
All hardware and software fully open source. Can be made with parts you can buy anywhere so increases privacy. Completely stateless so your seed is not stored on the device therefore can’t in any way be retrieved from the device. You can also use with multiple seeds & wallets so you can access a multi sig wallet with the one device. I’m fairly new to it so definitely DYOR but based on some demos of it and looking into it myself, I think it’s a great solution.
CC made a device, and that thing is so bullet proof, they put it open source. Ledger functions, no one knows how. Ledger is French, Macron could grab you and your seed phrase by the pussy if he wanted. By the way fuck France. Free Durov.

Absolutely! I’m very curious to see how long my ColdCard mk4 and mk3 are operational for. They feel like devices that will work for decades due to their simplicity.
Hilarious response. Ok ok. Thanks for taking the time. Bullet proof is enough
CC not difficult to use, but the price and way to access CC is the barrier to entry. Nothing easier than CC & Sparrow, but pricey. If you’re making it your own bank, then you should get steel doors, guards and dogs I know, but is it such a dumb move to go a ledger (top of the funnel as NVK says) before they jump to CC or other?
If your intention is to end up at CC or other, like you say, then why waste time with a company that has floors in its security software. You might as well save that money and put it towards a better device that you intend to keep for the long run.
